Farm School Maine

Farm School was born from the idea that people need to have room to be participants in their own growth; to make mistakes, be accountable to themselves and their communities, respect each other and the world around them, and engage in learning in a way that allows them to feel successful. By incorporating animals, nature, and inquiry based learning into our programs, we allow the students to engage with the world around them while also engaging with the material.

Our Mission

Our mission is to bring engaging, impactful, and exciting farm-based animal husbandry, horsemanship, and agricultural education to all communities in Maine, with a focus on underserved populations who would not otherwise have access to these opportunities.

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit so we offer need-blind admission and scholarships to many of our programs. The goal is to make farm learning accessible to anyone, regardless of their ability to pay regular horse program prices.
